Baretto: A Unique Trolley Bottle Carrier

Reimagining the Traditional Bottle Crate

Reuse industrial objects and hybridize with craft to create unique new pieces: functional, colored, vintage and modern in the same time.

The Baretto design, created by Manuela Verga Paolo Boatti, takes the traditional bottle crate and transforms it into a contemporary home mini bar. This innovative concept combines a bottle crate set with a highly functional worktop, all mounted on wheels for easy mobility. The result is a versatile and lively object that adds a touch of modernity to any living space.

What sets Baretto apart from other designs is the unique shapes and colors of each crate. This means that every version of Baretto is a one-of-a-kind piece, making it the real beating heart of a new mini bar with a modern vision. The MDF worktops, available in a variety of colors, create contrast or complement the hues of each crate, allowing for a high degree of customization based on individual preferences.

The use of steel mounting rods and hinges ensures optimal reliability, while the wheels guarantee maximum functionality. With dimensions of W 450mm x D 560mm x H 465mm, Baretto is designed to fit seamlessly into any space.

Baretto is not just a static and cumbersome furnishing accessory; it is a dynamic and adaptable object that can be easily moved around to suit different areas and lifestyles. Its practical little worktop and bottle crate combination make it a convenient and stylish addition to any home.

The philosophy behind Baretto is rooted in the concept of recycling and reinterpreting simple products. By giving new life to old crates and transforming them under a modern and eco-friendly light, Baretto exudes a vintage flavor with a contemporary twist. It is not just about recycling, but also about reimagining the function of everyday objects.

The Baretto design project started in May 2013 in Milan and was completed in August 2013. Throughout the development process, the design team faced challenges such as acquiring rights for the use of the plastic boxes and cutting MDF tops with a numerical control cutting machine. However, these obstacles were overcome, resulting in a truly unique and innovative design.

Baretto has received recognition for its excellence in design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2014, which honors well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. This prestigious accolade acknowledges Baretto's integration of industry best practices, competent technical characteristics, and its contribution to a better world.
